Students of the 22nd Batch, 6th Semester of the Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program at Namuna College of Fashion Technology attended an insightful guest lecture under the Fashion Merchandising subject by Mr. Umesh Kumar Gupta on June 17, 2026.

Mr. Gupta, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI), Government of Nepal, has been actively contributing to entrepreneurship promotion, startup incubation, enterprise development, business training, and policy-level discussions supporting Nepal’s growing startup ecosystem. Through his leadership and professional experience, he has guided and supported aspiring entrepreneurs, small enterprises, and innovation-driven initiatives across the country.

During the session, students explored practical aspects of entrepreneurship including startup rules and regulations, government funding opportunities, project development, business registration through official websites, incubation support systems, and training opportunities available for young entrepreneurs in Nepal. The interactive discussion created a valuable learning environment where students could directly engage, ask questions, and gain industry-based knowledge beyond the classroom.
The session was organized under the guidance of Mr. Rajendra Singh, Faculty of Fashion Merchandising (6th Semester) and HoD of Textile Design at Namuna College of Fashion Technology.
