Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) is Nepal’s first Fashion College and the initiator and pioneer of academic education in Fashion in the country.

We introduced Nepal’s first ever Bachelors course in Fashion through our three-year Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) program (6 Semesters) in 2002 in affiliation with the Purbanchal University. In 2016, we introduced Nepal’s first four-year Bachelors course in Fashion (8 semesters) through our Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program, also in affiliation with Purbanchal University.

The efforts made by the college to provide a rigorous academic background, complemented by an practical curriculum, outstanding team of faculty members, incisive teaching learning methodology, excellent infrastructure and working relationship with foreign design institutions, is well recognized among Nepali fashion’s stakeholders.

Similarly, the success of our graduates as entrepreneurs and career professionals in the Nepali fashion-sphere has contributed to further consolidate Namuna’s status as the veritable pioneer and pre-eminent name in fashion education in the country.

Bachelor of Fashion Design
& Management (BFDM)

Our Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program is the first-of-its-kind Four-year course (8 semesters) in Fashion and was introduced in 2016. The BFDM program is the successor to our Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) program, which was Nepal’s first ever three-year Bachelors course (6 semesters) in Fashion, introduced by us in 2002.

The BFDM program is based on an exceptional international-standard curriculum that stimulates creativity and innovation among students and prepares them for professional excellence in this challenging industry.

Under the program, students are trained intensively in theoretical, practical and technical aspects of fashion design by an outstanding team of faculty members within a highly supportive learning environment.

Fashion Show

One of Nepal’s most awaited and acclaimed fashion extravaganzas, our Graduation Fashion Shows, has been organized annually since 2005 by graduating designers of the final semester as part of their course requirements of the “Fashion Show” subject under our Bachelors program.

The graduating batch designs their own collection, as well as undertakes the overall management of the event and its execution. Their creations from the Creativity Round are also awarded grades by a panel of eminent judges which contribute to their final graduating grades.

The event examines critical and theoretical approaches to fashion designing, within and outside the wider boundaries of cultural practice and production and also offers specialist training and experience in practical aspects of designing, display and exhibitions along with other areas of fashion such as photography, choreography and modeling.

Our Graduation Fashion Shows have been attended by various eminent national and international personalities from the field of fashion, glamour, business and other walks of life, along with the general public.

The shows have received prominent coverage in all leading national print and electronic media and have contributed significantly in raising the profile of fashion as an academic degree and profession in Nepal.

Graduation

Upon graduation, our students are well-equipped to enter the fashion industry as entrepreneurs or career professionals. Students have also received employment offers from various reputed companies while still pursuing their studies.

ELIGIBILITY

Successful completion of Plus 2 or equivalent exams with at least 1.8 CGPA in any faculty or stream under any educational board recognized by Purbanchal University, Nepal. Students who are waiting for their results of the Plus 2 exam can also apply on a provisional basis. Previous training in fashion designing is not necessary for admission.
