COURSES/PASHMINA FASHION DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY
The Pashmina Fashion Design and Technology (PFDT) course is being run with support of the Pashmina Enhancement and Trade Support (PETS) project. The project is funded by the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) trust fund at the World Trade Organization (WTO) and executed by the Ministry of Commerce, Nepal. The International Trade Center (ITC), Geneva is implementing the project in partnership with the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA).
The PFDT course provides a general as well as detailed overview of designing, weaving, knitting, spinning, dyeing and printing through instruction, discussion, and hands-on-practice in class and homework assignments. Students will be exposed to textile, designing, documentation, costing and quality control sectors related to enhancement of Pashmina. Its main objective is to develop and add value to the product and design of Chyangra Pashmina product as well as its promotion in the national and international market.
