A seasoned Fashion Designer and well known name in the Nepalese fashion industry, Alpaja Rajbhandari is the Co – Owner and Designer at “Ekadeshma – Tales of Nepali Craft” an ethical clothing, accessories and lifestyle brand that she co-founded with her sister.
Before establishing “Ekadeshma” she gained a wealth of experience as a Designer in prominent companies such as Shraman Apparels and Karuna Natural Wears that have her opportunity to work extensively with national and international buyers.
“Ekadeshma” has built a strong local and international customer base by offering a collection of natural, unique, and contemporary attires/accessories and Nepalese handicraft items that use local resources. Her brand and her designs are also well known for giving modern and quirky twists to aspects of Nepalese culture and heritage to generate a wider appeal among the masses.
A strong proponent of sustainable fashion and women empowerment, her brand has been successful in providing employment to numerous disadvantaged women and local artisans. Alpaja along with her sister has conducted workshops in high quality stitching and also production of paper bags and candles for more than hundred women for their social and financial empowerment.
Alpaja has showcased her designs in many significant shows in the country including Craft Walk - The 2nd Handicraft Fashion Show 2011 organized by Handicraft Design and Development Center and the Fashion Revolution 2017 Fashion Show.
She has also shared her wealth of knowledge, skills and experiences with students during her stints as a faculty member of the college.
